Dona has been playing volleyball since she was 14 years old. She played for Hereford High School and played USAV club for years and continues to play in competitive leagues.
She started coaching at the age of 19 for the CYO (Catholic Youth Organtization) at St. Joseph's in Cockeysville as a youth leader. She coached High School for the Institute of Notre Dame and for Patterson Mill High School. She coached college club level for men's at Villa Julie College (before it had a D3 program) and women's D3 for Villa Julie College as the head practice coach under Madge Salazar. She has also coached club volleyball for over 20 years for all age groups.
Dona is a personal trainer and has experience in sports conditioning for volleyball. She is CPR/AED certified as well as trauma certified as a first responder (she is a retired MD State Trooper). She is CAP, IMPACT, GMS and NFHS certified in coaching volleyball. She also has taken many courses in positive feedback coaching to include the additional course offered by CAP and NFHS.
